  1. Bandwidth information for a specific website?

To access a website's bandwidth information page, simply enter http: //www.example.com/current-bandwidth in your browser. The current-bandwidth page will display how much bandwidth (traffic) your site has and is currently consuming.

This information is useful for determining if you need to purchase additional bandwidth for your site.

Here is what the different columns mean.

    • % -- The approximate percentage of bandwidth that has been consumed. The text will display in yellow when this is above 75%, red for above 90%. Note that under certain circumstances, this value may be incorrect. ALWAYS look at the value of "KBytes Sent" to determine your site's status!

    • Hits -- The current number of page hits (sitewide, except for this page) that have occurred during the current period.

    • Refused -- The number of page hits that have been refused due to throttling (ie, how many people tried to access the site while it was down for exceeding bandwidth)

    • KBytes sent -- How many kilobytes of data have been transferred (this is the most important number on the page)

    • KBytes per hit -- Approximately how may kilobytes of data are transferred per page hit.

    • Delay (<=30) -- When your bandwidth usage begins to approach 100%, the throttling system will attempt to preserve bandwidth by progressively delaying every page by the displayed number of seconds. If '0', no delay is currently in use.

    • Policy -- How the throttling is performed - by the volume of traffic.

    • Limit -- The number of kilobytes of data the site is allowed to transfer during the current period. When the traffic has exceeded this number, the site is effectively shut off until the beginning of the next period.

    • Period -- The length of time that the throttling will be in effect. The value here directly corresponds with the amount of bandwidth protection selected for the site. Possible values are: 1h (hour), 1d (day), 1w (week), 4w (month) At the end of the period, KBytes sent will be reset to 0 and the period starts over.

    • Period Elapsed -- The amount of time elapsed for the current period. This will display as NUMBER_OF_DAYS + HOURS:MINUTES:SECONDS

    • Idle Time -- The number of seconds since the last page hit.

    Basics of bandwidth protection:

Every month your site is allotted a certain amount of bandwidth - 20 GB. This limit may increase if additional bandwidth has been purchased for the site, in 20 GB increments. This total monthly limit is then split up based on the period (the amount of bandwidth protection).

So a site with no bandwidth protection has the full 20 GB available for the entire month. A site with light protection is allowed ~4.66 GB per week (20/4), so the period will say "1w" and the limit will say "4666809".
